Terms of Service
Last updated: August 20, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
mcpi is provided by Hauke Jung ("we," "us," or "our"). By using this website, the public server directory, or the mcpi desktop application, or by purchasing a licence, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you may not use the service. These Terms govern your access to and use of mcpi, available at https://mcpi.app, and any related services we provide.
2. Description of Service
mcpi consists of:
- The desktop application, a native MCP inspector for macOS, with a free tier and features unlocked by a paid licence;
- This website, including documentation, the free endpoint check, and licence checkout;
- The public server directory, which records probe-verified technical facts about publicly reachable third-party MCP endpoints.
3. Licences and the Desktop App
- The paid licence is a one-time purchase for personal use. It unlocks the paid features and includes one year of updates from the purchase date.
- Builds released within your update window keep working forever; the licence is checked against a build's release date, never the clock. Builds released after your window require a renewal to unlock.
- The licence key is verified offline. You may not redistribute, resell, or publish licence keys, or circumvent the licence check.
- The free tier requires no account and no licence and may be used indefinitely.
4. Accounts
- Registration requires accurate information. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity under your account.
- Authentication is powered by FerrisKey (self-hosted).
- Notify us at mail@haukejung.de if you suspect unauthorized access.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose security risks.
5. The Server Directory
- Listings state technical facts recorded by automated checks at the stated time — whether an endpoint answers, how it authenticates, and what it advertises. They are not endorsements, evaluations, or guarantees about the products behind them, and they may be out of date between checks.
- If you operate a listed endpoint, you may claim your listing by proving control of the endpoint's DNS. You may request correction or removal of your listing at any time via mail@haukejung.de.
- Status badges embed live directory data and may be used in READMEs and documentation of the listed endpoint.
6. Acceptable Use
- Comply with all applicable EU, German, and local laws.
- Do not abuse the endpoint check, the directory, or any API — including probing endpoints you have no right to test, circumventing rate limits, or disrupting the service or its infrastructure.
- Do not upload or transmit unlawful or malicious content.
7. Payment and Refunds
- Checkout is handled by Polar as merchant of record; Polar's terms apply to the purchase transaction, and your invoice comes from Polar.
- 14-day no-questions refund: reply to your receipt within 14 days of purchase and the money comes back.
- If you are a consumer in the EU, your statutory right of withdrawal under §355 BGB remains unaffected.
8. Intellectual Property
- The application, website, and documentation remain the intellectual property of Hauke Jung or their licensors. Open-source components are governed by their own licences.
- Subject to these Terms, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the desktop application as described in Section 3.
9. Privacy
We process personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. The desktop application itself sends us nothing; its licence key is verified offline.
10. Disclaimers and Warranties
- The website and directory are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free operation, and directory data may be incomplete or stale between checks.
- For the paid desktop application, your statutory warranty rights under German law (§§ 434 ff. BGB) remain unaffected.
- Except as required by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hauke Jung shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenues.
- Our aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the fees you paid in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intent (Vorsatz), gross negligence (grobe Fahrlässigkeit), injury to life, body, or health, or under mandatory consumer protection laws.
12. Termination
- You may delete your account at any time in the dashboard or by contacting us.
- We may suspend or terminate access to the website and directory for violations of these Terms. Licences already purchased remain valid per Section 3.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, to the exclusion of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, features, or business practices. Material changes will be announced on this website with reasonable notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
15. Severability and Contact
If any provision of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in force.
